D1 Paro Arrival & Thimphu
Welcome to Bhutan! Spectacular flight over the Himalayas. Drive to Thimphu, the capital. Evening visit to Tashichho Dzong, the seat of government and monastic body.
D2 Thimphu Exploration
Visit the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma (giant golden Buddha overlooking the valley), Folk Heritage Museum, and the School of Traditional Arts. Evening at the weekend market if timing permits.
D3 Thimphu to Punakha
Drive over Dochula Pass (3,100m) with panoramic Himalayan views and 108 chortens. Visit Punakha Dzong, Bhutan's most beautiful fortress at the confluence of two rivers. Evening walk to Chimi Lhakhang (fertility temple).
D4 Punakha to Paro
Return to Paro. Visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and Paro Dzong. Afternoon hike to Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples. Evening explore Paro town.
D5 Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Paro Airport. Tashi Delek!
