Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about traveling Asia with us

📋 Booking & Planning

How do I book a tour with Asia Wonder Tours?
Browse our 1,000+ tours at asiawondertours.com, fill in the inquiry form on any tour page, or contact us directly via email ([email protected]), WhatsApp/WeChat (+86 15347723823), or phone. A dedicated travel expert will respond within 24 hours to discuss your preferences and create a tailored proposal — completely free, no obligation to book.
Can I customize any tour itinerary?
Absolutely! Every itinerary is fully customizable. Extend your trip, add destinations, upgrade hotels, adjust the pace, or combine multiple countries. Just tell us what interests you. Unlike large tour operators, we don't run fixed-date group departures — every trip is built around you.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak seasons (spring cherry blossoms, autumn foliage, Chinese holidays), book 3-6 months ahead for best hotel availability and flight prices. For shoulder and low seasons, 4-8 weeks is usually sufficient. Last-minute bookings (within 2 weeks) are sometimes possible depending on availability.
Is there a deposit required? What is the payment schedule?
We require a 30% deposit to secure your booking, with the balance due 30 days before departure. For last-minute bookings (within 30 days), full payment is required. All payments are processed securely via bank transfer, Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, WeChat Pay, or Alipay (3% card processing fee applies).
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Free cancellation 30+ days before departure: full refund minus any non-recoverable costs (e.g., flight tickets already issued). 15-29 days: 50% refund. 7-14 days: 30% refund. Within 7 days: case-by-case basis. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation.

🛂 Visas & Documents

Do I need a visa for China?
Most nationalities need a Chinese tourist visa (L visa) obtained in advance. However, China has expanded visa-free access — citizens from 38+ countries can visit visa-free for up to 30 days (including most EU countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and more). Additionally, 144-hour visa-free transit is available in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and other major cities. We provide invitation letters and full visa guidance at no extra cost.
What about visas for other Asian countries?
Many Asian countries offer visa-free entry or easy e-visas. Japan: visa-free for 68+ nationalities (up to 90 days). Vietnam: e-visa available online for most nationalities. Thailand: visa-free for 64+ nationalities (30 days). India: e-visa available online (apply 4+ days before travel). Cambodia/Laos: visa on arrival. Bhutan and Tibet require special permits which we handle as part of your tour package.
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies (including COVID-19), evacuation, and baggage loss. While Asia is generally very safe, medical facilities in remote areas may be limited. Our team can recommend reliable international insurance providers.

🏥 Safety & Health

Is it safe to travel in Asia?
Asia is generally very safe for travelers. Violent crime against tourists is rare. Standard precautions apply: secure valuables, be aware in crowded areas, use reputable transport. Our local guides accompany you throughout your trip, know which areas to avoid, and handle any situations that arise. We have 24/7 emergency support available in English and Chinese.
What about food safety and drinking water?
Our guides select restaurants that meet hygiene standards. Tap water is not safe to drink in most Asian countries — drink bottled or filtered water. Avoid ice in street drinks unless you know it's from purified water. Street food in busy markets is generally safe (high turnover = fresher). If you have specific dietary requirements, let us know in advance.
What vaccinations do I need?
Recommended vaccines vary by country and season. Generally: Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Tetanus. For Southeast Asia: consider Japanese Encephalitis. For India/Nepal: consider rabies (if visiting remote areas). Malaria prophylaxis may be recommended for rural areas. Consult your travel doctor 6-8 weeks before departure. COVID-19 vaccination is recommended but not required in most Asian countries.

💵 Money & Value

Why choose Asia Wonder Tours over larger international operators?
Simple: local offices, local prices, local knowledge. Large international operators add layers of markup through overseas sales offices, third-party contractors, and advertising budgets. We operate 10+ local offices across Asia — when you book with us, you're booking directly with the people who will guide you. This means lower prices, more authentic experiences, and real 24/7 on-the-ground support. 4.99/5 from 4,800+ reviews proves it works.
What's included in the tour price?
Hotel accommodation (breakfast included), professional English-speaking private guide, all transportation per itinerary (private vehicle + domestic flights/trains as specified), entrance fees to attractions, airport transfers on arrival and departure. Not included: international flights, travel insurance, personal expenses (drinks, laundry, tips), and optional activities not listed in the itinerary.
How much does a typical Asia tour cost?
Budget: $80-150/person/day (3-star hotels, group tours). Mid-range: $150-300/person/day (4-star hotels, private guide, most popular choice). Luxury: $300-800+/person/day (5-star hotels, premium experiences, exclusive access). China tours tend to be the best value (excellent infrastructure, competitive pricing). Japan, Bhutan and Mongolia are at the higher end. Contact us for a personalized quote.
