Responsible Travel
How we ensure your journey benefits the places and people you visit
Our Commitment
We believe travel should be a force for good
Local Employment
200+ local staff across 10 offices. We hire guides, drivers, and office staff from the communities we serve — creating sustainable careers, not just jobs. 85% of our team are from the destinations they work in. Fair wages, health insurance, and professional development for all employees.
Community-Based Tourism
We partner with 30+ community tourism projects across Asia: homestays with Hmong families in Sapa (Vietnam), nomadic ger camps in Mongolia, village lunches with Bhutanese farming families, and artisan workshops in Rajasthan. Your visit directly supports these communities — an average of 35% of tour revenue goes to local partners.
Carbon-Conscious Operations
We calculate and offset carbon emissions for all tours. Our operational practices include: paperless itineraries, electric/hybrid vehicles where available, train travel over flights for short distances, and supporting reforestation projects in Nepal, Indonesia, and China.
Ethical Wildlife Experiences
We never promote or sell tours that exploit animals: no elephant riding, no tiger selfies, no dolphin shows. Instead, we offer ethical alternatives — observing elephants at responsible sanctuaries in Thailand, tracking snow leopards with conservation teams in Ladakh, and visiting panda research centers in Chengdu that contribute to species preservation.
Cultural Preservation
Travel should protect, not erode, cultural heritage. We work with local communities to ensure tourism benefits cultural preservation: supporting traditional artisans through workshop visits, contributing to monastery restoration in Tibet and Bhutan, and ensuring our travelers understand and respect local customs before they arrive.
Education & Empowerment
Through the Asia Wonder Foundation, we fund educational initiatives in the communities we visit: school supplies for village children in rural Cambodia, English language training for aspiring guides in Nepal, and vocational scholarships for women in the tourism sector. 2% of every tour booking goes to these programs.
